The day to day increment of MBA degree demand opened the way for new schools to come up. This race raised a question mark on the quality, standard and the courses offered by those schools itself. There started a controversy on the masters degree of those schools but those who maintained their standard stood as a standard set in the market. Primarily schools in the best MBA ranking were ranked in the newspapers but gradually magazines took the ranking business now they compile data of various universities and schools publish different articles to rank these schools and universities. Nowadays The top business publications have the race to rank the top MBA program in the country. They include Business Week which publishes biennial rank issue, Wall Street Journal¸ Economist, Financial Times, US News and Word report as well are trusted sources. School ranking may vary magazine to magazine. Its not unusual that its different in different magazine. These are ranked according to different criteria and it can vary in cases.

Criteria for Degree for the Best MBA Program

The publications use different criteria to rank schools. For instance one takes faculty experience as the criteria, some keeps number of articles published faculty as criteria while some use student’s contentment as judgment criteria for college ranking. These days average GMAT score of students is current consideration standard for ranking, as well as they keeps their starting salary as ranking basis.

Criticism on Ranking of MBA Programs

Ranking system of MBA programs in the country is criticized due to various reasons including the one that they focus a very small and selective number programs in the ranking list while ignoring a great number of universities that offer multiple and same programs offered by those universities. It results a vast majority of universities to be ignored in the ranking list. Every year same name of universities come up in the criteria list with a little bit of ups and downs. Ranking system is criticized due to the fast that they focus only on business schools only. They don’t focus on the quality of programs offered by them. These ranking types are not the true reflection of the ranking standard they focus on only a small set of universities however it is required to enhance the focus so that people can know about their desired programs easily.
